This gold coin commemorates the spa pavilion in Lazne Bohdanec
built by the architecht Goèár in the early 1900s.
The Pavilion Goèár is a preserved architectural work in the classic
Cubism style. It was opened on May 1, 1913, and bears the name of its
designer, well-known architect Josef Goèár. The building was very
practical and luxurious for its time, and is still used today. In 1926 the
second floor was added with 28 rooms. The raised ground floor hosts a spa
and town library. A hotel also occupies the first and second floors.
The reverse of the coin features a front view of the pavilion entrance
showing off its cubism style. The obverse shows the same view as the
reverse but from farther back, showing not just the entrance but the whole
pavilion.
Each coin is encapsulated in plastic and is displayed in a jewel box from
the Czech National Bank. Accompanying the coin is a certificate of
authenticity featuring an embossed image of the coin.
